The Lamas Lemons tree can grow in your garden or in a pot. It requires adequate sunlight, well-drained soil, and consistent moisture to thrive. You can maintain moisture in the pot, but don't over water it, as this may kill your plant. After 1 month, you can transplant it into a slightly bigger pot than the present pot or directly into the ground.
Here are some tips for caring for your Lamas Lemons tree:
- Soil: Provide moist, very well-draining soil, but avoid making it soggy.
- Watering: Prefer deep, infrequent watering to sporadic light watering.
- Sunlight: All citrus require full sun.
- Fertilizing: Fertilize in late winter before bloom and regularly throughout the growing season.
- Pruning: Prune in early spring, after fear of frost to the desired shape.
- Mature Height: 6-10 ft. pruned
- Mature Width: 6-8 ft.
- Sunlight: direct sunlight 6-8 hrs
- Blooms: Lamas lemon tree typically blooms annually
- Growth Rate: Moderate
- Spacing: 8-12ft

I ordered the Lamas Lemon (12-month-old) variety and paid a hefty amount for both the plant and shipping.
The plant was sent via a normal courier, but the packaging was good, and I received the plant in good condition.
The leaves were not very healthy, but they were manageable. The main issue I found was the plant size. The plant age mentioned on their website is misleading. I ordered a 12-month-old plant, but the one I received appears to be only around 6 months old.
When I enquired, their team replied that the plant's age is calculated from the inception stage of tissue culture in the lab. I don't understand this logic. How can a cell structure growing in a lab be considered the age of a plant when it is still an underdeveloped cell and not even an actual plant?
Edit : attached email screenshot from Celgen where they confirmed that the age of plant is calculated since the initiation in lab and now in comments they are denying it.
Dear Akanksha Ma’am,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to know that the packaging was good and the plant reached you in good condition.
We would like to clarify the tissue culture age point. The age is not counted from the initial explant/cell initiation stage. After initiation, the plant passes through multiplication, shoot development, in-vitro rooting, healthy root formation, and then gradual transfer to primary hardening.
In tissue culture plants, the plant becomes very sensitive during the transfer from lab conditions to a non-aseptic greenhouse/hardening environment. Our production age is counted from the established tissue culture plant/hardening batch stage, where the plant has successfully survived and started growing as a plant.
At the same time, we understand that customers judge the plant mainly by visible size and health. That is why we also mention plant size/height specifications along with age. If the plant received is below the mentioned height specification, kindly share a full plant video from bottom to top along with the plant tag, and our team will review and support you accordingly.
We appreciate your feedback and will work on making age and size descriptions clearer for customers in future.
Regards,
Team Celgen Biotech
I ordered three different plants from this website: Lamas Lemon, Peter's Honey Fig, and Taiwan Pink Guava. Every single one of them arrived in exceptionally healthy and perfect condition. The premium quality of their tissue culture plants is highly impressive—they only send genuine, top-tier plants, nothing random or low-grade. I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase and strongly recommend everyone to buy from here!
I recently purchased the Lamas Lemon – Tissue Culture Plant (Citrus x Lamas ‘Improved’) advertised as a 5-gallon, 2–2.5 ft “instant fruiting” tree. While the plant arrived in good condition and was packaged securely, its size and level of maturity were noticeably below what was described. The tree appears far from fruit-ready and is significantly smaller than what I expected from a 5-gallon, near-fruiting specimen.
Given the premium price and additional shipping cost, I had anticipated receiving a plant much closer to the advertised stage of development. Unfortunately, the product did not fully align with the listing, which made the purchase feel less justified.
I appreciate the seller’s efforts in shipping a healthy plant, but a more accurate description—or clearer expectations—would have made for a more satisfactory experience.
Thank you for delivering the plants in good condition. The issue I have observed is the plant was fully infested with leaf miners and many leaves were dropped in package. I have planted it and waiting for it to grow healthy after insecticide applicaiton.
Recieved a healthy tissues culture lemon plant big size, expected a bigger sized and matured plant for the price paid. Packaging was excellent for shipping the plants helpfull people for knowledge, information and suggestions asked regarding any plant.
